We can only guarantee the availability of the services with a minimum of two weeks notice before your arrival. As long as there is availability we welcome you. So, if you’ve got a last minute enquiry, phone or drop us an email!

The balance of your payment is due upon arrival at Mauka Lodge on your first day.

We are experts in SUP Surfing and we are all local Portuguese SUP Surfers with a strong knowledge about all the local spots.  We have our van ready to make daily trips with a range of up to 40 km.  This is enough to cover trips as far as Peniche or Lisbon (including a few of our secret spots)!  If the conditions are not good at Ericeira, we will do our best to find excellent SUP Surfing conditions for you.

Besides SUP Surfing we also provide Mountain Biking, Slacklining, Hiking, Yoga, Massages, Personal Training for SUP and Surf Fitness, Sightseeing Tours, and more!

Besides your personal belongings, you should bring:

  • A SUP leash (or two :D)
  • Sunblock for your face (you can also use Zinc Cream for sensitive areas like nose, lips and cheeks)
  • Beach towel
  • Waterproof ear plugs if you have “sensitive” ears or hearing problems.

The temperature in Portugal drops quite a bit when the sun goes down, so make sure you bring some warm clothes (jacket or windbreaker, long trousers, long sleeved hoodie or sweathshirt) as well as your beach gear.

We have rooms that accommodate one,two and three people.

We like to provide QUALITY! So we don’t work with groups bigger than 6 people to be able to provide you the best coaching and personalised experience possible.

YES! All of these items are provided to you during your stay.

Breakfast is included during your stay at Mauka Lodge.

We normally bring a healthy lunch to the beach (pasta salads, fruit, etc.).

Dinners are a social event at Mauka Lodge – usually the group goes out together to various local restaurants (We know the best ones!)

The closest restaurant is a 10 minutes walk from the lodge and Ericeira village is only 5 minutes by car.

We also have a transportation service available that will pick you up at the lodge, and take you to town for only 8€ total. (Max. 4 people per trip)

Ribeira D’Ilhas and Foz do Lizandro are only 5 minutes from the lodge.

The coldest months are January & February, where the water can get as cold as 14ºC (4/3 wetsuit). The rest of the year the water is around 17ºC (3/2 wetsuit or shorty) and in July and August it can get as high as 20ºC (boardshorts weather!).

Lisbon Airport is the closest, only 40 minutes by car, or 1h15m by bus.

The easiest way to get to Mauka Lodge is to request a transfer service from us!
When you exit the airport arrival doors, we will be waiting for you and will drive you straight to our location.! Easy!

Getting to Mauka Lodge from the airport is not too difficult. You can ask at the car rental counter how to get to the IC17. From there you have to exit onto the A8 towards Mafra. Once on the A8, you have to drive about 30km until you see the exit to Mafra/Ericeira. The exit is in Ericeira. After coming off the highway, you’ll see a large roundabout in front of you. Take the first exit on the right.

YES! WI-FI is available in the entire house. The speed and connection is really good!

You are welcome to bring your own equipment. However, all the equipment is included in your retreat package. We have surfboards, longboards, SUPs (from SUNOVA) and carbon paddles from QuickBlade to ensure we can cover your weight, skill level and comfort.

At Mauka Lodge we offer you a tailor made experience! You can change boards daily. You can ride everything from 7’5″ to 14′. Feel free to challenge yourself.
